The Fleurieu Coastline

McLaren Vale has almost 30km of breathtaking coastline and a number of beaches are a short drive from our place. The waters are pristine with long stretches of golden sand and undulating cliffs.

Our beaches are ideal for lazing away those warm summer days, taking long walks and soaking up the stunning scenery. Our sunsets over the ocean are hard to beat, and with many beaches allowing cars to drive on them you can pack all your requirements for a perfect day out.

You will be spoilt for choice and below are a few well worth visiting.

Port Willunga

Port Willunga is home to a famous shipwreck and is one of the regions most photographed beaches. The stunning beach has soft golden sand and is overlooked by beautiful cliffs where fishermen used to store their boats in the carved out caves. Well  worth visiting is the Star of Greece Restaurant, named after the sailing ship Star of Greece, which ran aground during a fierce storm.

Aldinga Beach

Wild cliff scenery and a particularly wide beach means vehicles are able to drive onto certain sections of the sand. There are also a number of great places to eat and drink at both Aldinga Beach and nearby, Aldinga. This beach is ideal for fishing, surfing and swimming and is a fabulous expanse of coast offering a walking and cycling trail that connects many nearby beaches.

Port Noarlunga

An old port township at the mouth of Onkaparinga River, Port Noarlunga is a popular family holiday destination and its long jetty is a popular fishing spot. The jetty is also ideal for a leisurely stroll and extends out to a 1.6km long reef, making it a favourite for scuba diving. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants along the foreshore to suit all palates and allow for far more than just a day at the beach.
