Overview


This tour is a 19 day, food and wine journey through the world-renowned German and French wine regions of Rheingau, Rheinhessen, Pfalz, Mosel, Loire and Bordeaux.  Mr Chris Pfeiffer, Pfeiffer Wines, will lead this unforgettable journey, enriching the experience, by sharing his knowledge and direct industry contacts, allowing rare and often intimate insights into the regions which will be visited.

Maximum group size is restricted to 22 passengers and all touring is conducted in a private deluxe motorcoach with air-conditioning and extra leg room.  The tour price also includes three First Class rail tickets (Kaisersultern to Paris / Paris to Tours / Tours to Bordeaux), all breakfasts, some lunches and dinners (wine included), winery wine tastings and 3 structured wine Master classes.

Rüdesheim am Rhein
Arrive in Rüdesheim, a beautiful wine village in the Rheingau region. Relax for the afternoon and meet the rest of the group in the evening for a welcome drink.

Rüdesheim am Rhein
Wine tasting in Rüdesheim and the surrounding area Rheingau region. Welcome lunch or dinner will be held today.

Rüdesheim am Rhein
Today we head to the Rheinhessen and Pfalz regions south of Rüdesheim, for winery visits
and tastings.  Lunch is included at a local restaurant.

Travel by coach from Rüdesheim to Traben-Trarbach.  A long lunch is planned for
the day somewhere along the Mosel River.

Traben-Trarbach to Kaiserslautern to Paris
Coach from Traben-Trarbach to Kaiserslautern (111km).  We will then catch the 10.23am train to Paris arriving in at 12.49pm. After checking into L'hôtel Luxembourg Parc in Saint Germain,  the rest of the afternoon is free to indulge in the best of what Paris has to offer. In the evening we will meet up for dinner.

Paris to Amboise
Catch an early train from Gare Montparnasse to Saint Pierre-des-Corps, where we will meet up with the coach. We will then and spend the day visiting wineries and tasting in the Vouvray and Chinon regions.

Coach from Amboise to St-Pierre-des-Corps to catch a train to Bordeaux  Long Sunday lunch in Bordeaux before we check-in to our hotel.

This morning we visit wineries in Sauternes with the Bordeaux Left Bank and Sauternes Masterclass scheduled for the afternoon.

Visit to wineries and tastings in the Medoc (Left Bank) region.

Free day with the only thing planned being the 50km trip from Bordeuax to St Emilion.

Coach to Bordeaux where drop-offs will be made at Bordeaux St Jean station for those requiring trains out of the city and then on to Bordeaux Airport for those with scheduled flights out.
